About APS

Australia’s leading posing school for bodybuilding competitors.

Founded by Bikini Pro and World Champion Rebecca Cox, APS was born from the need for true posing expertise in Australia. Becc saw too many athletes stepping on stage with cookie-cutter routines and knew there had to be a better way.

At APS, we believe no two athletes are the same — your physique, your personality, and your journey are unique. That’s why your posing should be too. Our mission is to help you move with confidence, express your individuality, and showcase your physique at its absolute best.

Today, APS is made up of a team of professional posing coaches with years of experience across every federation and division. From first-time competitors to seasoned pros, men and women alike, we support athletes in Australia and around the world through in-person and online coaching.

Our team

At APS, our team is more than coaches — we’re a family passionate about guiding athletes through every stage of their posing journey. With five experienced coaches and a dedicated staff member working behind the scenes, we bring together diverse knowledge, lived experience, and a shared love for bodybuilding. Together, we’ve created a supportive space where athletes can learn, grow, and feel confident every time they step on stage.

She is your stage mum, waving and smiling like a mad-woman in the audience or from afar!

  • I had a really bad experience in my first competition. No one taught me how to pose for my physique and I felt humiliated. I never want an athlete to feel the same as the way I felt on that day and my mission is to never let an athlete have a bad experience.

  • Women’s figure OR Men’s Bodybuilding (I couldn’t choose!)

I love the shape of women’s figure & the evolution of their posing but… I do love a Big Male Bodybuilder! Those muscles speak for themselves.

  • Protein: Barramundi
    Carb: Mango
    Fat: Dark roasted peanut butter

  • Follow the plan to the letter—cross every “T” and dot every “i.”

When you step on stage, ask yourself, ‘If I don’t win, did I do everything I could and give it my absolute best?’ If the answer is yes, you’ll walk away proud, no matter the outcome.

And that pride? It will radiate through your stage presence on show day!

  • I pride myself on remaining relevant and up to date, totally independent of any one federation.

Posing is an essential component of competition that often determines the fine line between winning and losing. I teach posing because polished poses and flawless, well-thought-out choreography not only boost the competitor’s confidence but also provide immense entertainment to audiences. Just as you prioritise your workouts and nutrition, dedicating time to perfect your posing is crucial for achieving success on stage.

I’m delighted to continue sharing my numerous tips and tricks to help you become the best competitor possible. Discover my unique posing blueprint—use it, build upon it, and add your creative flair. Together, we can personalise these steps to match your federation, physique, and personality.

  • It’s impossible to pick ONE! I love ALL poses that have been performed by legendary bodybuilders throughout history and have become iconic in the sport of bodybuilding for their beauty, grace, and aesthetic appeal. I also love seeing the current athletes onstage today tweaking these iconic poses to suit their physique.

  • I’m not picky when it comes to food; I’ll happily munch on lettuce or steak, chow down burgers, and even indulge in chocolate-covered broccoli.

  • Consistency is key to achieving your best possible physique on stage. Stick to your workout routine, follow your nutrition plan meticulously, and dedicate time to perfecting your posing.

My free bonus prep tip is to ensure you give yourself enough time to prepare adequately, so you can make gradual progress and avoid unnecessary stress close to the show date. Stay focused on your goals, even when faced with challenges or setbacks.

  • I love the creativity. Through the art of posing you can make a great body look incredible. It brings me so much joy to not only transform a body through posing but also an athletes confidence on stage. I love all the incredible people I get to connect with and help get to stage.

  • I don’t have a favourite but when I see an athlete hit a pose that’s bang on and is the one just for them, you see the strength in their physique and the confidence on their face, that’s truly special.

  • Seafood. I love seafood. And always sweet after savoury. Also… is wine food?

  • Discipline and consistency will get you there. When it gets tough, remind yourself why you started. The journey is something you’ll always remember, so relish it, live it, dig deep when you have to and just remember to pat yourself on the back along the way.

  • Posing Coach

Mel is an IFBB Bikini Pro with 6+ years experience in the bodybuilding industry. Bringing passion, experience and dedication to female posing in Sydney, Australia.

Mel prides herself on helping athletes perfect their posing for stage. From first timers to seasoned competitors, she specialises in IFBB bikini, NBA bikini and ICN bikini, fitness & sports.

Mel works entirely in the health, fitness and bodybuilding space. She is a wealth of knowledge in every aspect of the industry from training and nutrition to posing and presentation.

  • Current - Mel has competed in ICN fitness and sports divisions, earning numerous medals before moving on to compete with the IFBB Pro League where she became the NSW overall champion and national novice champion in her first season. On to her most recent season, winning her IFBB Pro Card.

  • I teach posing because presentation is highly underrated in competition and I want to see the bar raised for posing in bodybuilding. Posing is more than just standing on stage. It’s an art form that you should harness to show off your strengths and hide your weaknesses. A way you can gain confidence and stand out amongst your competition. Nothing brings me more pride and joy than being a part of ladies journey to stage and helping them find their inner sass and flow.

  • My favourite pose is the power pose which I have whipped out at every single competition I’ve competed in. It’s almost a personality trait by now.

  • My favourite food is Italian! Pizza & pasta. Give me all the carbs, every day!

  • One prep tip I have is to put your blinders on and stay in your own lane. Do not compare yourself to other people because nobody looks like their Instagram pictures on show day. Do the work, and focus on yourself. You will be proud.
